10 Video Games to Buy Before the End of 2013

The end of this generation’s console era is slowly coming to an end, and the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be released in November of this year. However there are still some great games that will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this year. Here are the 10 games PunchDrunkGamer recommends you consider for purchase on consoles before 2013 comes to a close.
1) Saints Row IV (Xbox 360/PS3/PC)
The sequel to the smash hit Saints Row The Third. This game puts you in the role as President of the United States and leader of the Saints as you battle aliens in the city of Steelport. The over the top action from the previous game is even more over the top than before.
2) WWE 2K14 (Xbox 360/PS3)
The first WWE game under the 2K Sports banner after its purchase from the now defunct THQ. The quality gameplay is here from previous games, including the newly announced “30 Years of Wrestlemania” mode which puts you into classic matches from Wrestlemania’s past.
3) Pikmin 3 (Wii U)
The first game in the series since 2004’s Pikmin 2 on the Gamecube, this game puts you into the role of 3 explorers who must use the Pikmin to help get back home. The gameplay is as fun as ever and has received high review scores from game reviewers everywhere.
4) Battlefield 4 (Xbox 360/Xbox One/PS3/PS4/PC)
The sequel to the smash hit Battlefield 3. Battlefield 4 will bring 64 player online combat to the consoles for the first time along with more destruction and a deeper single player story mode.
5) Call of Duty Ghosts (Xbox 360/PS3/Wii U/PC/Xbox One/PS4)
This years entry from Infinity Ward will bring gameplay enhancements to the standard Call of Duty formula, along with destruction of environments and perks galore.
6) Watch Dogs (Xbox 360/Xbox One/PS3/PS4/PC)
The standout hit of E3 2012, this game has the gameplay and visual aspects to back it up. Ubisoft has created a hacker/stealth hybrid game that will surely become a big hit for the company.
7) Splinter Cell Blacklist (Xbox 360/PS3/Wii U/PC/Xbox One/PS4)
The first Splinter Cell game to not feature original voice actor Michael Ironside. This game will focus on the stealth elements that fans of the series fell in love with. The reviews so far have been stellar as many have declared this the best game in the series.
8) Grand Theft Auto V (PS3/Xbox 360)
It’s Grand Theft Auto. No explanation needed.
9) Rayman Legends (Xbox 360/PS3/Wii U/PC)
The follow-up to the hit Rayman Origins. This game will feature more levels, more action, and in the case of the Wii U, exclusive multiplayer costumes.
10) Dead Rising 3 (Xbox One timed exclusive)
The follow-up to Dead Rising 2. This game will have the biggest environment in the franchise’s history, along with Kinect features that will enhance gameplay on the fly.
