Yuta Kubo emerged as the winner of the drama-filled Featherweight Slam tournament at GLORY 8 TOKYO. The Peter Aerts and Jamal Ben Saddik fight is definitely a candidate for Fight of the Year as with youth and size on Ben Saddik’s side he was able to put Aerts down and nearly out in the first. But in the second round Aerts came out like a man possessed and staged one of the most remarkable comebacks in the sport’s history, scoring three knockdowns and winning by KO.
Chael Sonnen proved once again that trash talk doesn’t win titles, as Jon Jones made his fifth consecutive defense as he smashed Sonnen in round 1. Michael Bisping won a technical decision over Alan Belcher and Roy Nelson knocked out Cheick in the first round. Davis, Healy and Khabilov also left the Prudential Center victorious on Saturday night.

Benson Henderson retained the UFC lightweight title bout in a razor close decision and one hell of an evenly matched fight with Gilbert Melendez. Daniel Cormier defeated Frank Mir via decision and Josh Thomson scored the TKO victory over Nate Diaz. Brown, Mendes, Jury and Njokuani all scored (T)KO wins in San Jose.
Giorgio Petrosyan won a rather easy decision over Hafid El Boustati as he continued to show why he is the #1 lightweight in the world. Robin van Roosmalen defeated Murthel Groenhart via decision and Davit Kiria walked away from his fight with Yuri Bessmertny with the decision victory.

Gökhan Saki defeated Daniel Ghita for the second time but this time he won via TKO. Mourad Bouzidi stopped Fabiano Cyclone and Nieky Holzken beat and cut Karim Ghajji to win by TKO.
Gegard Mousasi easily beat late replacement Ilir Latifi via Unanimous Decision to win his UFC debut. Ross Pearson got the TKO victory over Ryan Couture and Matt Mitrione knocked out Phil DeFries. Pickett, Brandao and Corrasani were also victorious in Stockholm, Sweden.

Tyrone Spong continued to build on his legacy as he knocked out the “The Flying Gentleman” Remy Bonjasky in the main event at GLORY 5 London. Watson, Kraus and Wakeling also left the ExCel Arena victorious.
