UFC Fight Night 26: Shogun vs Sonnen - Extended Event Coverage:

- UFC Fight Night 26 – Main Event Preview and Guest Panel Predictions

Bonus Guest Panel Predictions from Ricky Lundell (Head Instructor University of Grappling in Utah):

*Alistair Overeem (36-12-1) vs. Travis Browne (14-1-1) - I believe Travis Browne will beat Overeem. Browne's training partners have included Frank Mir, Carlos Condit, and Jon Jones for this fight giving him a competitive advantage on the training side. Browne also is being coached by the best at Jackson MMA including Winklejohn and Valle. I believe that Overeem hasn't had the quality of men around him that Browne has placed around himself. This is going to be a huge upset for Browne.

*Urijah Faber (28-6) vs. Yuri Alcantara (28-4) - Urijah Faber by RNC.

*Matt Brown (17-11) vs. Mike Pyle (25-8-1) - I believe Mike Pyle will Knock Out Matt Browne. Pyle is on a strong winning streak. He is being coached by striking master mind Jimmy Gifford and working out of Syndicate with an amazing coach John Wood. This places him in a no lose situation in my mind.

*Joe Lauzon (22-8) vs. Michael Johnson (12-8) - I believe Joe Lauzon will make UFC bonus history taking the lead on all time bonus wins and he will be crowned the worlds most exciting fighter with a knock out or submission victory over Michael Johnson. Johnson is fast, but Lauzon beats him with experience, power, and technique. There has been a noticeable change in Joe Lauzon's stand up speed and power. We all know that Joe Lauzon is at the top of the pile in the UFC with his dynamic submission game, but the power and speed that Steve Maze has added every fight to Lauzon's striking has made Lauzon a very scary all around fighter at 155lbs.

After a stellar card capped by a jaw-dropping submission by light heavyweight Chael Sonnen, UFC president Dana White held court at the post-fight press conference inside Boston's TD Garden.

In attendance were headliners Sonnen and his opponent Shogun Rua, plus victors heavyweight Travis Browne, bantamweight Urijah Faber, welterweight Matt Brown, middleweight John Howard, lightweight Michael Johnson, bantamweight Michael McDonald and featherweight Conor McGregor.

Due to the outstanding performances at the event, White announced that the UFC would award six $50,000 post-fight bonuses instead of the usual four.

Sonnen earned Submission of the Night for his surprising first-round guillotine win over BJJ black belt Rua; McDonald also picked up a submission bonus for his triangle-armbar of Brad Pickett.

Browne and Brown both earned KO of the Night green for their first-round finishes: Browne for the crane-kick comeback that flattened Alistair Overeem; Brown after starching former training partner Mike Pyle in 29 seconds. "Mike Pyle beat me up in training -- he beats everyone up in training," admitted Brown. "I knew it was him or me."

McDonald picked up a second bonus check for Fight of the Night; Pickett has now earned seven UFC/WEC bonuses in his ten-fight promotional career.

"And there are more coming," he hinted.
