More Mass Effect 3 DLC Coming Next Week
In a move that continues to reinforce the theory that BioWare is very, very sorry for ending their trilogy so haphazardly, a new DLC for Mass Effect 3 is due next week for free. Called the Retaliation Pack, the content is the largest batch to date, and will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC October 9th (October 10th in Europe). Retaliation includes a new enemy faction, “Hazard” versions of Mass Effect 3’s original maps, and various unlockable weapons. The DLC also introduces a new multiplayer “challenge” feature that allows players to track their progress against each other. The achievements can be displayed in-game.
Angry Birds and Star Wars?
Rovio’s Angry Birds series is about to receive a major boost from a neighboring franchise: Star Wars. A new company Tumblr account features the promotional image of the game’s titular bird wearing a Jedi robe and lightsaber. Rovio, which so far has not given any official announcements regarding the project, has announced October 8th as the day that the Toys R’ Us in NYC’s Times Square will tout information about this future marriage made in heaven.

PS3 Skyrim DLC Update
PlayStation 3 fans of the fantasy epic Skyrim will have to hold out a little bit longer for downloadable content for the game, according to a Bethesda announcement on Twitter. Pete Hines, the vice president of public relations and marketing, flatly stated recently that “I don’t have any info on Hearthfire, Dawnguard, or DLC in general for PS3… We’re still on it. Will share update when I have one.” Hearthfire was a DLC first released for the Xbox 360 in August.
Happy Wars Next Week for Xbox Live
Happy Wars, the first free-to-play game for the Xbox 360, is due next Friday (October 12th) on Xbox Live, for Gold subscribers only. The announcement, which came courtesy of the PlayXBLA website, also states that character modifications and equipment can be purchased with real money, or by unlocking “Happy Stars” through play. The prices have not yet been unveiled, but players can otherwise expect a brawler with support for up to 30 players at once, who engage in epic free-for-alls with each other.

Borderlands 3 News
Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford addressed his many followers on Twitter by confirming that Borderlands 3 is not yet in development. Though Borderlands 2 only recently hit the marketplace, speculation has already begun about its inevitable sequel. According to Pitchford, “No one has started working on a sequel to Borderlands 2. Clean and simple truth: the only Borderlands-related game development work going on right now is for Borderlands 2.”
Max Payne 3 DLC Delay Issues
Max Payne 3’s Hostage Negotiation Pack, which was first delayed in September, has now been delayed officially by Rockstar. In a recent statement, the company said, “Our apologies to Max Payne fans who’ve been waiting for this one and the other upcoming packs; we’re working hard to bring you this and all the other DLC and should have a release date to announce for this next pack very soon.” The pack will add four new multiplayer maps – O Palacio Strip Club, Favela Heights, Club Moderno, and Estadio Do Galatians – as well as three new items – Intimidation Mask, Bomb Suit, and Explosive Burst. The DLC is expected to become available later this fall for $10.
