Diablo III Update
Hungry Diablo fans have been experiencing delays to the upcoming Diablo 3, beginning in 2011 that have extended to today, when Activision’s current financial report reveals that the game will not be ready until their second quarter (April-June 2012). Moreover, only one of Activision’s slated titles, which include World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria and Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, will see release in 2012.
Google Home Theatre System in the Works!
According to the Wall Street Journal, Google is venturing into a new market with a new home theater system that utilizes Android OS technology. Superior to Google TV, the device will combine both hardware and software into a singular package. The new device will supposedly feature wireless connections for tablets, smartphones, and speakers. Content can be purchased through the Android Market. The new entertainment system will receive its official press announcement sometime later this year.

Ghost Recon Online Closed Beta
Beginning March 5th, the closed beta for Ghost Recon Online will be ready for users. Interested PC users need to apply for the beta test on the Official Website. No official announcements have been made as to how participants will be chosen, or how many users will be selected. The upcoming, downloadable third-person military shooter emphasizes cover-based tactics, and is a wholly multiplayer experience. In addition to being available for the PC, the project is also in development for the Wii U.
New COD Game this Year
Activision has confirmed a new Call of Duty game for 2012, continuing their trend of releasing the military-shooter titles annually. No information about the game was given at Activision’s 4th Quarter earnings call, but earlier buzz has hinted that the game in question might be a sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops. Activision is expected to divulge additional details shortly.
Resident Evil: Revelations – Launch Trailer
The 2004 PlayStation 2 classic Killzone has been delayed indefinitely for the PlayStation Network, where a re-mastered version had been planned for January 24th release. A statement was tweeted on the official Killzone Twitter account, explaining: “I have no further info about KZ1 for PS3, save for the fact that it’s delayed indefinitely. If I learn anything else, I’ll tweet it here.”
Changes to the Streets of Hong Kong
The title of True Crime: Streets of Hong Kong has been reworked into “Sleeping Dogs” for its upcoming release on the PC, PlayStation3, and Xbox 360. This has much to do with Activision’s decision to cancel the game, and Square Enix picking up the rights but not the franchise. The game’s identity as an open-world police drama set in Hong Kong remains, but an advanced, “intuitive and imaginative” combat system is being implemented to give the game its unique identity.

Starhawk Limited Edition
Sony has announced its Starhawk limited edition, will include not only the PlayStation One game Warhawk, but multiplayer maps skins, theme, and game soundtrack. Only those who pre-order the game at GameStop will have access to the limited edition. As an additional bonus to those who make GameStop pre-orders, they will receive a Starhawk official soundtrack and a concept art theme.
MW3 DLC – Overwatch
Modern Warfare 3 is due for its next DLC drop, with the “Overwatch” map set to arrive on February 21st. Overwatch, the only piece of new content inherent in this update, is a combat zone set atop a New York City skyscraper still under construction, in which deathtraps like missing guardrails add complexity to the action.
