The Elder Scrolls Online Announced
The debut of The Elder Scrolls Online has finally been set for 2013, a development that will finally allow Skyrim fans the opportunity to engage with the game in an MMORPG capacity. In a tease for newest edition of Game Informer, developer Bethesda Softworks elaborated that The Elder Scrolls Online would include the entire continent of Tamriel, as well as lands introduced in previous Elder Scrolls installments, such as Skyrim and Morrowind. Much like the stand-alone mythology introduced in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the events of this new MMORPG will take place 1,000 years before the events of Skyrim. Three player factions will be available to choose from, but they have not yet been detailed.
Next-Gen Xbox in Manufacturing Process?
In a well-founded rumor sure to be shot down by the ever-vigilant Microsoft, IGN has reported from one of their sources that the “Durango,” (A code name for the next-generation Xbox console) is being manufactured, most likely to provide testing kits for game developers. An Austin-based electronics company called Flextronics, which recently concluded a group test for the marketing, software, and hardware of the new console, has recently begun the official assembly of the Durango. When Microsoft responded to IGN’s story, they did so with the following: “We are always thinking about what is next for our platform and how to continue to defy the lifecycle convention. Beyond that we do not comment on rumors or speculation.”

Enter the Dominatrix in Saints Row: The Third
A new stand-alone expansion pack for Saints Row: The Third will introduce super powers to the game’s universe. Titled “Enter the Dominatrix,” the expansion sees the Third Street Saints battling aliens who consider the Saints’ leader their only barrier against world domination. The Saints have to battle in a replica of Steelport, called the Dominatrix, in order to overthrow the alien threat. Set for release in the fall for $30, Enter the Dominatrix will be the first stand-alone expansion for this game, and will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
Company of Heroes Sequel Details Leaked
The long-awaited sequel to the strategy hit Company of Heroes has finally been detailed, due to a leaked issue of PC Gamer UK. Taking place during World War II just like its predecessor, Company of Heroes 2 is set mainly within the Eastern Front, from the perspective of a war correspondent. The snows that plagued armies waging war around Russia during this time will be conveyed by the game, which begins in 1941. Few other details were given, aside from the fact that the sequel can expect release sometime in 2013.

No Valve at E3 2012
In an unfortunate bit of news, innovative developer Valve will not be announcing any new titles at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. According to a Valve spokesman, “There are no new Valve product announcements planned for this year’s E3,” which means no word on Half-Life 3, or any number of sequels for existing Valve franchises. No word either on the “Steam Box,” an intriguing gaming system that’s been rumored to be in development at Valve. We’ll just have to wait until the next major media event.
Black Ops 2 Development Details
According to Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is being currently developed by 300 people, with 250 of those employees working for Treyarch, and roughly 50 comprised of test teams and outside contractors. Due in stores November 13th for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, Black Ops 2 is the sequel to the highest-selling Call of Duty game yet made. It’s single player campaign is divided between levels that continue Frank Woods’ adventures from the first Black Ops, and levels taking place in 2025, with more technologically-advanced hardware at players’ disposal.

Next-Gen Aliens Anyone?
According to a job listing from UK game developer Creative Assembly, their newest multi-platform title, which is set in the Alien universe, might be released on both current and next-generation consoles. The listing, posted to hire a multiplayer programmer for the title, describes the project as an “AAA multiplatform title on current and future generation consoles set in the Alien universe.” Supposedly based in a universe that more closely resembles the suspenseful horror of Ridley Scott’s Alien film than James Cameron’s Aliens, details regarding the title are still being kept tightly under wraps.
Deus Ex to the PS3
A port of the PC masterpiece Deus Ex is on its way to the PlayStation 3, according to PEGI, Europe’s equivalent of the ESRB. On PEGI’s website, an entry has appeared for “Deus Ex” on the PlayStation 3, which has been assigned an age-rating of 16. The game will most likely be a carbon copy of Deus Ex: The Conspiracy – a PSN version of the original PlayStation 2 port of the game.
