Tomb Raider Street Date Announced
Crystal Dynamics’ newest Lara Croft treasure hunting adventure finally has a release date in March 5th, 2013, according to a new trailer. Since experiencing delays after Square Enix announced a fall 2012 release, the game, simply called Tomb Raider, is slated for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC release. It will be the first Tomb Raider game since 2010’s Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, and opposed to that earlier title’s multiplayer focus, it will feature a stand-alone, single player campaign prominently.
The Hideo Kojima-free continuation of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, now titled Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, has been scheduled for release in 2013. The game will bring a lot of firsts to the franchise – the first outing for the Fox game engine, an emphasis on action rather than stealth, and a chronicle of narrative events following Metal Gear Solid 4’s 2007 ending.

Gears of War 4
Another Gears of War is on the way, with details to come during next week’s showings at the Electronic Entertainment Expo currently underway in LA. According to Game Informer, the date and time of the announcement will be June 4th, at 9:30 AM PDT during the Microsoft E3 briefing. The July issue of Game Informer teases some new Gears of War art, but aside from that, fans will have to wait with bated breath until they get the official scoop.
PS4 in 2013?
According to sources speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Sony is straining to make their secretly in-development PlayStation 4 available for release in 2013. The PS4 was once supposed to be a fully digital, download-only console, but was re-tooled once Sony reps took into consideration the lack of solid internet connections in marketplaces worldwide. The console will be sporting an optical disc drive instead. Sony would not comment as of press time on the validity of the sources’ claims.

Halo 4 Bonuses
A slew of pre-order bonuses for the upcoming Halo 4 are being divided between retailers like Amazon, Wal-Mart, GameStop and Best Buy, with customizable skins of the Forest, Web, Circuit, and Pulse varieties now in circulation. New franchise developer 343 Industries has said that players will be able to customize the skins of both their weapon and armor skins to their exact specifications. Halo is set for domestic release on November 6th.
Dark Souls DLC & Prepare to Die Edition
Fans of the excruciatingly hard Dark Souls now have a new DLC to look forward to, set for release alongside the new Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on August 24th. For $15 (or 1,200 MS Points), fans of the game just looking for the new content can buy “Artorias of the Abyss,” which bring new bosses, areas, characters and equipment to the Dark Souls experience. What’s more, the Prepare to Die edition of Dark Souls will finally be available on Steam, making the title more immediately accessible to gamers.

NetherRealm bringing fans Gods Among Us
The DC Comics-injected Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe from NetherRealm Studios has finally warmed enough hearts to earn a spinoff fighter of its own. As evidenced by a new trailer, Injustice: Gods Among Us, a fighter featuring DC superheroes, is due in 2013 from NetherRealm. The trailer, which asks, “What if our greatest heroes became our greatest threat?” features Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Harley Quinn and more in a story where the lines between good and evil are blurred in a traditionally dramatic fashion.
New Star Wars Details
The nature of LucasArts’ latest foray into the Star Wars universe has finally been revealed at E3 as Star Wars: 1313. Seeming closer in tone to “Force Unleashed” than Kinect Star Wars (the studio’s latest outing), the upcoming title will put players in the shoes of a Coruscant-based bounty hunter exploring the subterranean “1313” level of the planet-sized city. Forced to rely on gadgets and weaponry instead of force powers, the game will primarily feature third-person, cover based action. No release date, or list of available platforms has been given.
