Interim WBC Light Heavyweight Champion David Benavidez along with WBA Light Heavyweight titleholder David Morrell will tip the scale this afternoon for the official PBC “Fight Night” weigh ins, streaming LIVE at 4 p.m. ET in the embedded video above.
The Benavidez vs. Morrell main event tops a stacked pay-per-view (PPV) fight card (see it here) that also features once-beaten WBC Featherweight Champion Brandon “The Heartbreaker” Figueroa going head-to-head with veteran “Cool Boy” Stephen Fulton.
PBC “Fight Night” takes place this Sat. night (Feb. 1) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
“I see myself systematically breaking him down,” Benavidez told Fight Hub TV. “I think I’m just going to overwhelm him with punches. My punches in bunches is unlike anybody else in the sport. I’m the No. 2 most accurate puncher in the sport. I don’t really get hit that much, I don’t know why people think I don’t have defense.”
“So what I notice from my previous fights when I fight great fighters, when I get in there and they don’t have success like they had with other fighters, they get a certain look in their eye like ‘oh sh-t’, like ‘this guy is really good,’ and I’m expecting the same thing here. I’m ready to go to war. This is what I’m here for.”
