Haqparast (18-5) has rattled off five wins in a row, with victories over Jared Gordon, Jamie Mullarkey, and John Makdessi, among others.
The Germany-born Afghan fighter was highly hyped when he started his UFC career, but after winning three fights, he ran into Drew Dober, who ruined his hype with a vicious knockout (watch highlights).
Haqparast rebounded with two wins but then lost two straight fights to Bobby Green and Dan Hooker; however, since that last losing streak, it seems like he is back on track to be a prospering Lightweight.
