Magomed Ankalaev took more than just the light heavyweight subject at UFC 313.
He also snatched the Jon Jones heavyweight super fight away from Alex Pereira, who could not get out of second gear against the Dagestani bruiser last weekend at T-Mobile Arena, falling by way of unanimous decision atop the UFC 313 pay-per-view ( PPV ) in Las Vegas.
That removes the final hurdle for time middleweight champion Tom Aspinall.

Pereira vs. Ankalaev 2 is “probably” future, according to White.
Jones, 37, returned from a devastating forearm injuries to leave Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 last November, only his second triumph after transitioning to lighter again in early 2023. During his absence, the 31 year-old Aspinall captured the alternative rope by stopping Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295, subsequently defended the interim name by creaming Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304.
