Josh Thomson urges PFL to find their sh*t up

Josh Thomson concerns about the state of PFL, and there&#8217, s one new minute he experienced with PFL co-found Donn Davis that underestimates why.

Thomson, a former Strikeforce fighter, has n&#8217, t competed since Bellator 172 – in 2017.

&#8220, I merely shrugged it off, &#8221, he said.

Thomson, who co-hosts the &#8220, Weighing In&#8221, radio with John McCarthy, said the PFL has been a disaster since their acquisition of Bellator, for which he fought and worked as a critic. Some combatants, such as Patricio Freire, Aaron Pico, and Patchy Mix have wanted out due to being shelved, with former champion Author just getting his desire.

Thomson thinks it &#8217, s important for fighters to have options outside of the UFC and does n&#8217, t like what he&#8217, s seeing out of PFL. He was especially important of Davis and PFL CEO Peter Murray.

&#8220, I wish PFL would find their sh*t up, &#8221, Thomson said. &#8220, The bottom line is we have another campaign ( other than the UFC). We need another advertising that has access and may develop future talent. I don&#8217, t know if they can develop it. Mike Kogan is it so, I know that there&#8217, s a possibility for the players to be built. Do I have faith in Donn Davis and Pete Murray? I have absolutely no faith in them in being allowed to get the job done. They don&#8217, t watch the sport, they don&#8217, t know the game, they don&#8217, t know their players. &#8230,

&#8220, If you don&#8217, t know, you don&#8217, t understand. So, if you &#8217, re not following the sport – ( Davis has ) come out and said &#8216, I don&#8217, t watch fights, I don&#8217, t know everything that &#8217, s going on. &#8217, That&#8217, s not how you build actors. You &#8217, ve got to know who they are. &#8221,

The PFL ditched its regular season structure and rather this year is running eight separate tier games, with the parentheses announced Tuesday. As of now, it &#8217, s unclear what the PFL programs for its prized filing, Francis Ngannou, who debuted for the campaign last October. Furthermore, when does Jake Paul, who signed a deal with the PFL in January 2023, make his special album – if ever?

While Thomson is wary of the original PFL brass, his belief remains in Kogan, the former Bellator match who worked for Scott Coker and was retained by PFL during the merger.

&#8220, Mike Kogan can surely move in and do that, &#8221, Thomson said. &#8220, He&#8217, s built stars in Elite XC, in Strikeforce, and he&#8217, s helped alongside with ( Scott ) Coker, Rich Chou, and those guys. He can do it again for the PFL, but you &#8217, ve got to give him some triumphs to go ahead and do that. &#8221,
