Video: UFC 312 Headliner Strickland Hurls Kids Off Sydney Pier
Sean Strickland is a man of the people and willing to engage with fight fans more than a lot of other UFC stars. That’s probably how Strickland found himself wrestling some Australian fans into the water off a pier earlier this week.
This is a big weekend for Strickland as the former 185-pound titleholder will meet current UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis in a main event rematch later tonight (Sat., Feb. 8, 2025) at UFC 312 LIVE on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia. Strickland has waited over a year to score another chance to fight DDP and prove he’s still the best middleweight in the world.
While most fighters would utilize their downtime on fight week to get in some extra training or see some of the beautiful sights that Sydney has to offer, Strickland decided to chop it up with a group of older kids on a pier, which appears to be at a beach in Clifton Gardens. Strickland threw a few different fans off the pier while attempting several backflips. It was a unique way to spend his time before fighting for the world title, but Strickland is someone who always beats to his own drum.

Believe it or not, this is not the first time Strickland has gotten playfully physical with his fans. Earlier this week, someone stepped on stage and tried sparring Strickland during UFC 312’s open workouts only to get knocked down twice. Back in early 2024, Strickland found himself sparring a fan on a ski slope and ended up choking him out (see it HERE).
